What the model leaves out
Users on paid subscriptions in your app aren't counted toward MAU. Plans differ in features as well as overage rate.
Before you commit
- Free stops at 10,500 MAU; uncapped MAU needs a paid plan.
- Organizations are counted too: 5 free on Free and 50 on paid plans, then $0.43–$0.50 per monthly active organization (single-user organizations don't count).
- Billing your own customers through Kinde adds a 0.5–0.7% platform fee per transaction.
- SMS costs 7¢ per message unless you bring your own provider, which needs Pro or higher.
