What the model leaves out
The rate is derived from the one price the pricing page's calculator shows without interaction (1.5M events: $140/mo monthly, $120/mo yearly), which works out to $0.00028 per event beyond the free 1M. Mixpanel advertises volume discounts at higher stops (up to 20M) that this model doesn't capture, so Growth is capped at 1.5M here rather than extrapolated (a straight line would give $2,520 at 10M — far above what volume discounts imply). The other stops need the calculator read in a foreground browser. Yearly billing is about 14% cheaper.
- The Free plan is capped at 1 million events and 5 saved reports per user.
- Growth goes up to 20 million events a month online; above that is Enterprise (contact sales).
- Group analytics and data pipelines are paid add-ons, charged as a percentage on top.
- Startups under 5 years old with up to $8M in funding can get the first year free.
