Cloudflare Web Analytics is a free analytics product from Cloudflare that shows visits, pageviews, referrers, top pages, countries, devices and page load performance, including the Core Web Vitals LCP, INP and CLS. Cloudflare says it does not collect or use your visitors' personal data.

How you add it depends on the site. If it is already proxied through Cloudflare, the beacon is injected automatically; on Cloudflare Pages you switch it on and the next deployment includes it; anywhere else you paste a small JavaScript snippet, loaded from static.cloudflareinsights.com, before the closing </body> tag. It doesn't require moving your DNS or putting the site behind Cloudflare's proxy.

A small team gets a basic traffic and performance dashboard at no cost, with no pageview limit stated, and a GraphQL API for the same data. Cloudflare doesn't document a paid tier for it.

It is deliberately minimal: there are no custom events, query strings aren't logged so UTM campaigns aren't reported, and history goes back six months. Data is unsampled for only 7 days before being aggregated, so older reports and filtered views are sampled. Accounts have a soft limit of 10 sites, the beacon can be blocked by ad blockers, and single-page apps report the last route change only when the visitor leaves.

Questions makers ask about Cloudflare Web Analytics

Do I need to move my site to Cloudflare to use it?

No. Sites not proxied through Cloudflare add a JavaScript snippet by hand; proxied sites get the snippet injected automatically, and Cloudflare Pages adds it on the next deployment. source ↗

Can I track custom events or UTM campaigns?

Not currently. Custom events aren't supported, and query strings aren't logged to avoid collecting sensitive data, so UTM parameters aren't reported. source ↗

Is the data sampled?

Data is unsampled for 7 days, then aggregated to about 10% of its volume; queries use a sampling rate chosen from the filters applied, and the GraphQL API reports the rate used. source ↗

How many sites can I add?

There is a soft limit of 10 sites per account, which support can raise. source ↗

Is it blocked by ad blockers?

The JavaScript beacon can be. Cloudflare's separate edge analytics for proxied sites, measured from requests at its edge, can't be blocked. source ↗

Does it report Core Web Vitals?

Yes, LCP, INP and CLS; CLS is only measured in Chromium-based browsers because Firefox and Safari don't support the API it needs. source ↗

Is Cloudflare Web Analytics free?

Yes — there is a free tier a small product can run on. source ↗

Is Cloudflare Web Analytics open source or self-hostable?

Not open source, and hosted only.

Can AI coding agents work with Cloudflare Web Analytics?

No llms.txt, official MCP server or CLI found yet.
